Mission: We would like to work toward self-sustainability utilizing permaculture principles and value creative exploration.
From www.ic.org/directory/windy-hill-farm-cooperative/:
We are a small mixed bag of folk who have worked to get the property to a functional state with many projects in the dream works. We have 3 greenhouses, a fruit and vegetable growing field, goats, ducks, chickens, a shop, a few dwellings, fruit trees, and a farm stand. We also already have a few cats and dogs and will not be accepting any more. We are very open-minded and would love to have people passionate about permaculture and more natural ways of living. In the past we had a lot of fun but got sidetracked when venturing into beer- and wine-making and problems ensued, so lesson learned, we are working to get back on track to our original vision and will not be accepting people with any drug or alcohol problems. We still plan on having fun but hopefully with music, food, and dance minus the drunken shenanigans. At the moment the property is not very child-friendly, but with the right kind of folks and property cleanup, that will hopefully change. We have lots of stuff for the creative person to mess around with. This year we would like to work on soil remediation and nut trees and redesigning our planting field in line with permaculture principles. Next year we would like to be able to have enough produce to sell at the local farmers market. We are not certified organic nor do we intend to be, but we do practice organic methods.- Address
