Koots Ecovillage

Mission: We intend to create an Ecovillage with its own culture that values contribution, self-growth, and self-reliance.

Our vision is to:
- Steward and care for our land and home base
- Choose a life of voluntary simplicity
- Focus on sustainability, which includes food security, interpersonal resilience, and renewable energy production
- Collaborate on creative projects (art, music, theatre, building, etc.)
- Develop shared customs (group meditation, community celebrations, etc.)
- Develop an alternative economy and/or community currency
- Create enough abundance from within the community that we give back to the greater surrounding community
- Work with and learn from conflict
- Support each other to grow as individuals
- Care for and honour the wisdom of our elders
- Create a healthy context in which to raise our children
