Meet the neighbors:

Mission: Sustainable diverse farm intentional community based on proven science and the rules of successful communities.

From www.ic.org/directory/ecofarm-community/:

Our is focus is on sustainable living, farming, alternative energies (solar), permaculture, environmental issues, social justice, and pastured based farming. Community products include organic vegetables and eggs, ornamental trees, cane syrup, Water Buffalo dairy and native plants. We also have mechanic and wood-working shops. Community outreach activities include a sustainable living program (www.wmnf.org), farmers’ markets, and support of global community efforts. Carpentry, mechanic, or agricultural experience is a plus. Want-to-do projects: finishing the dairy, woodgas, electric tractor, etc.

The mission at EcoFarm is to form a sustainable, eco-friendly, people-friendly, farm-based intentional community that provides for all the needs of community members. Members are community-minded. They are focused on maintaining the well-being of the community and striving towards increasing sustainability. Meaningful work, a social environment, and community activities cultivate an atmosphere of common purpose and shared experiences. Prospective members need no money to join, only should be free of debt and to have a willingness to put the community first. Visitations are by appointment.

We believe the world is at a critical-decision crossroads. The survival of our planet, indeed the human race, is at stake. Science has confirmed what we are witnessing first-hand; global warming, resource depletion, escalating population growth, mass extinctions, and other worldwide events demand that we adopt a more sustainable lifes. Our personal decisions in daily living are the key to changing this destructive course. We strive to help others in finding more sustainable solutions for everyday living through education and demonstration of subjects as native and edible landscaping, reuse, recycling, conservation, and more. Living in the Sunshine State, we place a strong emphasis on solar projects, such as solar heating, cooking, and electricity.
