Mission: affordable housing, community, participation, volunteering

From www.ic.org/directory/drumlin-co-operative/:

Drumlin Co-op is a 91-unit housing cooperative located in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Brantford is located centrally in southwestern Ontario, about an hour's drive from Toronto and London, and about three hours from the borders at either Windsor or Fort Erie.

Drumlin was first established in September 1988 and first occupied in 1989. The co-op consists of two-, three-, and four-bedroom units, as well as five accessible units. There is a community centre and office located centrally on the co-op grounds that houses laundry, maintenance and storage facilities, along with the office. There are two staff persons available four days per week.

Co-ops are one of four kinds of nonprofit housing. They are the only nonprofit housing that is democratically managed by the residents. The premise behind cooperative housing is to provide an affordable housing alternative for people that allows them to have some control over how their community is run.
